Baby Bump: 26 Weeks!

Home stretch!  I’m now in the third trimester, which is a pretty great feeling.  Although it means that I’m uncomfortable day-to-day, it also means that the baby is getting closer and closer to making his grand entrance!

Also a truly exciting update: I *finally* left a doctor’s appointment with no outstanding issues to worry about!  They’ve had several small things that they’ve been monitoring since my 18-week appointment, but after this one, I got an all clear!  Fingers crossed, our little dude is as healthy as can be.

Also, I went on the tour of the hospital I’ll be delivering at, which was pretty amazing.  My friends have joked that it’s the “Four Seasons of Hospitals,” so I had high hopes going in, but by the end of the tour, I was kind of like, “hey, what’s all this medical equipment doing in my beautiful hotel room?” Expectations surpassed.

(I know, I know: it doesn’t matter, and I’d choose a hospital with excellent medical treatment over one with iPhone docking stations any day, but still… if having both is an option…)

Chad wasn’t there to keep me in line (I try to be sparing in the pregnancy-related things that he has to miss work for), so my questions primarily centered around…

(1) the wifi capabilities of each room in the labor and delivery process, and
(2) whether we could bring champagne for post-baby toasts.

The answers?  Yes and No.  Boo.

(We will obviously sneak champagne in anyways.  Please don’t rat me out.)

Baby Bump 26 Weeks 2

How far along? 26 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 18 pounds.

Maternity clothes? I realized this week that with three months to go, I need to make sure I get the chance to wear all my maternity clothes before the baby comes!  I probably overbought and could have made do with less, since I’m still mostly in regular clothes (except pants, obviously).  I bought five pairs of pants, two dresses, and two shirts, and I think that was probably too much!

Stretch marks? Still no!  I’m getting more nervous as I get bigger.

Symptoms: Still pretty uncomfortable — third trimester blues.  It’s hard for me to sit for longer than an hour without feeling super uncomfortable, which makes everything from work to watching television a bit of a challenge!

Sleep: Jeez, this poll just rubs in all my problems, doesn’t it?  Sleep is still pretty bad.  I bought a pregnancy pillow months ago, but I find that it makes sleeping even harder, so I haven’t been using it.  I know others swear by them, though, so maybe I’ll end up loving it!

Best moment this week: FINALLY leaving a doctor’s appointment with no outstanding issues to worry about!

Worst moment of the week: … And then finding out four days later that I’m anemic.

Have you told family and friends: Yes!

Miss Anything? Roquefort cheese.  I’m bringing it with me to the hospital.

Movement: Lots!

Food cravings: Shrimp tempura rolls, green apples, mango.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, not this week (although if I get too hungry, I still feel a little queasy).

Have you started to show yet: YES!

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? In, but it’s starting to get stretched out…

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: A smooth and easy three more months, and then meeting our sweet little boy!

Ps. I know these posts are baby-centric but you should post outfit links as well, because that maxi dress is adorable!

It’s from Mark. this summer — not available anymore, sadly!  When I got it, I knew it was going to be the perfect maternity dress (just had to wait seven months to need it)!
