COVERGIRL lip perfection day 7 and a giveaway!

April 25th, 2011 · 79 Comments

I have to admit, I was a little sad to have my week of COVERGIRL Lip Perfection come to an end!  I loved, loved, loved this lipstick and it was such a fun way to kick me out of my lipcolor rut!  And by the end of the week, my lips were SO improved — barely chapped at all!  In fact, even after this challenge ended, I still haven’t used any lipstick other than Lip Perfection.  I’m a total convert!

And… you will be too!  Because two lucky winners can win a package of all seven Lip Perfection shades that I used this week!  I know you guys are going to love these as much as I did.

This final shade was Delight — a bright pink that was just perfect for soaking up those first sunny days of spring.  I finally had a gorgeous spring day to take some photos, and I decided to celebrate it with a fun, super-girly color.  The video above shows all my shades (along with the outfits that went with them) as well as some random clips I took along the way.

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment below telling me which lipcolor was your favorite (Feline, Delish, Rapture, Flame, Heavenly, Impassion and Delight)!

And for an extra entry, follow @sugarlaws and @COVERGIRL on Twitter and leave a comment below telling me that too!  US shipping only (but feel free to enter if you have a friend or relative with a US address to receive it for you)!

I’ll announce the two randomly-selected winners on Friday of this week!

Update: The winners are Ramya, Comment #5, and Carolyn, Comment #46!  I’ve emailed you guys for your addresses.  And to everyone else, thanks for entering!

COVERGIRL lip perfection: days 5 and 6

April 22nd, 2011 · 9 Comments

So, by days 5 and 6 of my COVERGIRL Lip Perfection challenge, my lips were seriously feeling great.  I’m writing this almost a week after the challenge ended, and I’ve been so addicted to the benefits of Lip Perfection that I’ve still been wearing it every day.  But by the end of the first week, I’d started to notice the difference every time I put lipstick on — my lips were smoother, softer and just generally felt better!

And along the way, I managed to discover some awesome new shades.  Lipstick is so incredibly transformative — even though I started with the basics, I was so excited about the chance to experiment with an entire line of Lip Perfection!

I thought that my go-to basic would be Feline (the shade from day one), but when I tried Heavenly on Day 5, oh swoon.  It immediately went into my bag as well — it’s just as gorgeously pink and feminine, and totally adorable.  That day, I was headed to a showcase of summer dresses (more on that soon), so I wanted to look polished but still casual, and this was a perfect go-to shade.

And then day 6.  One of the things I was particularly excited about was to explore some more dramatic lip colors, and I just loved the orangey shade in the picture below, called Impassion.  Also, don’t you just love all the names?  There’s something so fun about putting on a lipstick in the morning called Rapture or Burn or Hot — or as demure and sweet as Fairytale or Sweetheart.  It was actually rainy *again* on day six, so I had to do this photo indoors with only a little light, but I promise, Day 7 will make up for it.

So stay tuned for a COVERGIRL giveaway and a fun video of all my looks for the week!

COVERGIRL lip perfection: days 3 and 4

April 21st, 2011 · 5 Comments

So, I woke up on Day Three and decided to channel my inner grunge rocker a little bit.  Here’s the funny thing, though — while I’d usually go straight to the smoky eye, I’ve been obsessed with the purple liner that COVERGIRL sent me for one of my Oscars looks, so I decided on that instead.  And since I was going for a more neutral makeup look, I stuck to a sparkly coral-type shade of Lip Perfection called Rapture.

But for Day Four, I decided to branch out a little bit.  I’m always looking for the perfect shade of red lipstick, and this one is COVERGIRL’s “Flame.”  I get really self-conscious wearing a super-bright lipstick, so I had to fight the urge to blot this into neutral territory after I put it on.  But I loved it!  I was exhausted from waking up super-early for meetings all week (you can kind of tell in the picture) but the lipstick totally gave me a much-needed jolt of rejuvenation.  And even with a simple outfit like an oversized sweater and jeans, this was totally put together and cute.

And… even better, four days in my lips were already in better shape!  Going into this, my lips were so terribly dry and chapped that I was kind of hoping for a miracle.  I was a little skeptical that lipstick could actually help (especially because I already slathered them with supposedly good-for-you chapstick every few hours), but I really noticed an improvement!  Which is a good thing, because super-chapped, bright red lips?  Not cute.  Not cute at all.
