So, a number of you guys probably get the Saks catalog every month… but this month, I want you to pay extra-close attention to it!
When it comes in the mail, I want you to flip through all the pages, but when you get to the second to last page, stop…
BECAUSE THERE I AM!
I am so, so excited to show this to you guys — growing up outside NYC, Saks was a huge part of my life for basically my entire childhood (and adulthood)! My parents used to take us into the city around the holidays every year, and one of my earliest memories is being so obsessed with the perfume samples at Saks! Seriously, if you were cleaning out my childhood bedroom this weekend, you’d probably find a bunch of perfume samples tucked away in some hiding spot (sorry, mom), because they were literally, no joke, my most valuable possessions for many, many years. I still have a lot of trouble throwing away those perfume sample bottles when one of them comes my way!
And Saks stayed a huge part of my life as I grew up. It was where I bought my first designer handbag (the Miu Miu staple that I still carry today!), it was where I’d sneak to when I’d had a terrible week at work and needed a lunchtime pick-me-up, it was where I bought birthday and Christmas presents, the dress for my Rehearsal Dinner, the Chanel bag I’d been coveting since I was a teenager, and so many more. My first week in Houston, I was a little (a lot) lonely and didn’t know anyone, but I had a free afternoon one day and wanted to do some shopping — so where did I head? Saks, obviously! I had lunch in their restaurant, sipped a glass of wine, browsed some pretty clothing, and you know what? At the end of it, I felt a lot better. Sometimes that’s all it takes.
So I was so beyond thrilled when Saks asked me this summer to be in their September catalog! (And I’m especially honored to be alongside the incredibly gorgeous Aimee and Christina!) When you get it in the mail, be sure to take a peek for me!
And, if you’re looking to update your wardrobe for fall, Saks is giving away a pair of Vince fingerless gloves (perfect for using your iPhone when it’s freezing out!) this weekend with any $250 women’s contemporary purchase!

You guys have already heard me bemoan the lack of color on the Spring ’14 runways — but there were also some trends I’m super excited about! One of my favorite neutrals on the runway was this beautiful shade of blush pink. I’m already trying to figure out how I’ll work it into my wardrobe before spring!
I actually picked up this top in NY and it was the first thing I pulled out when I got home! I loved that the blush tone almost perfectly matched my favorite pair of Foster Grant sunglasses — how perfect are they together? This pair is such a classic, I keep my eyes peeled in case I ever run across it in other colors! I’m actually tempted to buy a second pair just as a backup — I’d be heartbroken if these ever got lost or broken!
Foster Grant sunglasses, BCBG top, Line and Dot shorts, Forever 21 necklace (similar here).

So, remember everything I said about this being a good fashion week?
This wasn’t a good fashion week. This was an AMAZING fashion week. I knew going into this dinner that it would probably be one of the highlights of my week, but the reality blew my expectations out of the water.
That is Nigel Barker dipping me. That actually happened last night!
This whole experience was such a blast. The dinner was incredibly small and so much fun, and I’m amazed that I even got to be in a room with Nigel, Anne V, Lydia Hearst and… NAOMI CAMPBELL! Yup, we found out the morning of the event that Naomi was coming too! So basically this was going to be the coolest dinner of my life.
Naomi was totally gorgeous and it was so cool to hear about she and the team at Oxygen have worked to make Season 2 of The Face new and exciting and fresh. I can’t wait for it to come out! (They’re just starting filming this week, so not till early 2014!)
And to cap it all off, before the dinner, Carly and I were treated to amazing blowouts — obviously our hair had to be perfect for a photo like this!
We had such an incredible time at dinner — the guest list was out of this world, between the stars of The Face and reps from so many amazing magazines and huge websites (including my personal fave, Amy Odell, who I was literally too nervous to say hi to)! Carly and I got seated almost right next to Nigel, where he casually mentioned that he buy his wife ten pairs of Louboutins a year (swoon!). Chad might need some lessons!
It was seriously such an incredible night, and the perfect way to end an amazing Fashion Week. Thank you SO MUCH to The Face and Oxygen for inviting me!
