One thing I hear from a lot of you guys, particularly those of you with sensitive skin, is that you’re looking for beauty routines that incorporate natural, gentle ingredients — and so I have a great one for you!

For me, one of the best ways to get glowing, radiant skin is to use an exfoliating scrub.  Scrubs are key to keeping skin looking fresh and removing dead skin cells to look your best!  One of my personal favorites is the Simple Skincare Smoothing Facial Scrub [1] — it’s amazing for making your skin brighter and more evenly textured.

In addition to Simple’s amazing facial scrub, there are some fun at-home concoctions you can whip up too.  Today I thought I’d share a DIY facial scrub that combines some powerhouse kitchen ingredients with Simple Skincare’s really fabulous (and affordable) sensitive skin moisturizer, for a beauty routine that will leave you glowing!

The key to exfoliation is using ingredients that will take off any lingering dead skin cells, but that won’t damage the rest of your skin.  The lip scrub [2] that I use is too harsh for my face, so I swapped out sugar in the raw for oatmeal and baking soda as the exfoliants.  I used Simple Skincare [3] Replenishing Rich Moisturizer [4] to bind everything together, and to add an extra boost of hydration (12 hours of moisturization!) and nourishment for my skin.  (One of the major bonuses to using drugstore products — it doesn’t cost you $20 to mix a little of your moisturizer into a DIY beauty treatment!)

Follow up this mask with your regular facial skincare products, like Simple Skincare’s Soothing Facial Toner [5], which is incredibly gentle and leaves your skin clean and refreshed.  Add another layer of Simple Skincare Rich Replenishing Moisturizer [4], and let it sink in overnight.  In the morning, your skin will feel great!

DIY Oatmeal Scrub

INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp oatmeal
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp olive oil
1 tbsp Simple Skincare Replenishing Rich Moisturizer [4]

DIRECTIONS

Blend all ingredients together, and apply to face.  Leave on for ten minutes, then wash off.  Follow with toner and more moisturizer overnight.
