When I was approached to do a giveaway of a style book, I was pretty excited. I’ve read dozens (many, many dozens) of cookbooks, but as far as style goes, my reading doesn’t go much further than each month’s issue of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. So when Penguin sent me this book, written by Emmy award winning costume designer David Zyla, it was a welcome addition to my shelf.
Zyla’s premise is that we have versions of colors that are unique for each of us, based on our skin tones, eye color and hair color. To me, that sounds like pretty good advice — how many times have you noticed that certain colors bring out your eyes? That certain colors wash out your skin? I know it’s something I always keep in mind when I’m choosing outfits for special occasions, and I love that this book provides a framework for knowing which colors are best.
One lucky reader will win a copy of this book! To enter, leave a comment on this post by midnight EST on Thursday, April 22rd — and tell me what color you think is most flattering when you wear it! I’ll be selecting a winner randomly and will announce it on Friday the 23rd. Good luck!
And if you don’t want to wait for the giveaway, you can buy the book here!
