nyfw: what i wore, day one

February 15th, 2012 · Print Print

Not surprisingly, after a winter of seventy degree Texas weather, I was a little unprepared for New York i February!  I stayed a few blocks from Lincoln Center, so I figured my first day, I could handle walking a couple of minutes without a jacket.  (Yes, I know, really dumb.  Sorry mom!)

But so worth it — I got snapped by Nylon Magazine for their street style gallery!

But what better way to show off my new favorite purchase — these hot pink Rag and Bone jeans?  I’m obsessed — I’ve literally worn them four times in the week since I bought them.  I’m also very happy to report that there was plenty of color on the runways for next fall, so this trend won’t be going away any time soon!

I’m still sorting through all my pics from the shows, so there’s a lot more to come!  But I thought it might be fun to start with what I wore the first day, and take it from there. :-)

And the best part of all — a group pic of everyone from after the Rebecca Minkoff show!

Rag and Bone jeans, sheer Equipment blouse, Topshop tank underneath, Chanel purse, J. Crew and Alexis Bittar bracelets, Via Spiga leopard heels.

First, third and fourth pics by Keiko, second pic by Lucky Magazine, last one by Jorge Aguilera.

I’ve been a fan of your blog for a while, but “retarded”?  Really?  I’m sure you mean no harm, but I hope you’ll check out this post:

agree with @carrie. retarded – not a good word choice. i personally struggle to stop saying this word, as it was so commonplace in my suburban high school and somehow made it into my vocabulary. so, i empathize, but you should probably delete this.

I was with a friend (who lives in FL) when I saw you getting into a car and she commented on your top and how you must have been freezing! :) The jeans were how I spotted you though – I love them.

Hey guys — You’re totally right, it was a bad word choice.  I’m on my phone now, but I’ll change it as soon as I’m in front of a computer (probably an hour or so).  I certainly didn’t mean any disrespect to people with actual disabilities, I just meant that I was being dumb.

Was able to change from my phone!  Again, guys, I’m really sorry.

The too-big shoes really detract from the rest of your outfit :(

Those jeans are fantastic. It’s no wonder Nylon noticed you. Love Nylon btw – and your blog for that matter. Good stuff!
