Our trip to Paris was just incredible. I promise I will get back to culinary topics tomorrow, but this post will be largely dedicated to the food-oriented photos I took in Paris (see, I didn’t forget about you guys)!
But before I start in on how amazing the food was (and it was!), there is something a little bit more amazing to share… I am engaged!!! On the second day of our trip, after I dragged my poor boyfriend fiancé across the entire city on foot (there is no other way to travel in Paris, of course), and as we were walking along, I spotted a bakery with towers of meringues that I just couldn’t resist. I went in and bought one, and as we were walking towards the Seine, along a side street with the Eiffel Tower all lit up behind us, I started gushing about how perfect the trip was, and how perfect Paris was, and how amazing my little meringue was (which turned out to be a *caramel* meringue, which I must now learn to make!), and how nothing could possibly be better. But, of course, I was wrong on that last part, because he interrupted my giddy ramblings by getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him.
I cannot imagine that it’s possible to be happier than I am right now. We flew back on Monday and I have spent the last 48 hours on the phone practically, and have found it very difficult to have a conversation, even with total strangers, without somehow slipping in the phrase, “I’m engaged!” So starting tomorrow, I will be back with new recipes for you all, but for now, enjoy these photos of the tastier side of Paris!
