I do a lot of beauty tutorials on this site, and I’m always looking for fun ideas to share with you guys. But as much as I love makeup, the truth is that makeup is one small part of my skincare routine. The best concealer or foundation in the world won’t work properly without clean, well-hydrated skin, and no amount of mascara or shadow can help when you when you’ve skipped basic skincare.

As a lover of all things beauty, I wind up trying a lot of products, with both good and less good results. While I feel extremely lucky to try so many great new products, I have to face facts: being a constant beauty guinea pig has made my skin way more sensitive than it’s ever been in the past. Last year, I had two terrible allergic reactions to beauty products, and ever since, I’ve been extremely careful about the products I’m willing to use.

So I am so excited to tell you guys that I’m going to be working with the UK’s No. 1 Facial Skincare brand, Simple Skincare, which is coming to the U.S (and beauty aisles!) this February! Simple Skincare is specifically designed for people with sensitive skin, and has no dyes, perfumes, or harsh chemicals. Simple knows that what’s left out of a product is equally important as what’s put in — so it’s created an effective, gentle skincare line, with each product designed to minimize the risk of a skin reaction. I’m always on the lookout for gentle products that can become my immediate go-to cleansers, moisturizers and more, and I can’t wait for you guys to try these.

And the best part? Drugstore prices. Seriously!

Alexa Chung for Madewell top, Marc Allison jeans (gifted by LYCRA), Forever 21 scarf.

I’m excited to hear about them, it’s really important to me to find products that are more natural without chemicals. And I love your scarf!

Very cool! In my early twenties my skin resorted back to the condition it was in my early teens (acne-prone, red, irritated) so I’ve been looking for a new face wash and moisturizer that won’t irritate my face. I’ll have to check out Simple Skincare in Feb! Keep us posted!

Ps. Where did you get your polka dot blouse from this picture?

It’s Alexa Chung for Madewell, and the jeans are Marc Allison (gifted from LYCRA)!  I’ll update the post tonight.

I think the blouse is sold out online, but it might still be in stores!  http://www.madewell.com/madewell_category/SHIRTSTOPS/blouses/PRDOVR~53098/53098.jsp

I love simple products, especially the fragrance free conditioner and shampoo although some of the products still contain sodium laurel sulphate, which is a harsh detergent which is very drying on your skin.
