boots17rev style: boots made for walkin’ (no, really) style

I know that neutrals are so popular right now, but I still love, love, love black paired with gold or muted colors.  I’ve probably written a half dozen posts about my favorite black-and-gold combo, but black and tan is up there as well.  Scarpasa.com recently sent me these terrific quilted tan boots by Toni Salloum, and I completely adore them.

I rode for many years (even in Manhattan) and let me tell you — real riding boots are nowhere near as cute as designer riding boots.  But they do share one thing — they’re easy and comfortable enough to wear while I’m running around the city (read: not the seven-inch platform heels I often prefer!) and still look totally chic.

And this super-cute bag from British brand Accessorize was a perfect match for a BCBG necklace I bought last year.  It’s funny how often I gravitate towards certain color palettees, but I feel like it’s not such a bad thing to have consistent tastes.  At the Kenneth Cole event last week, through a funny mix-up in the wording of our place cards, a number of us thought we were supposed to describe our personal style in a few words.  I picked “elegant but casual,” which is a variation on “elegant but easy,” which is how I like my food.  So at least there’s something relatively consistent about my nutso life lately.

Bird by Juicy Couture top, gifted Toni Salloum boots from Scarpasa, BCBG necklace, H&M gold bracelet, gifted Union Jack Sequin Clutch from Accessorize.
