A few months ago, I was approached by Coach to be part of to their awesome MYNY campaign, which features NYC-based bloggers styling outfits around Coach’s gorgeous new Poppy line.  And honestly, I sort of couldn’t believe my luck.  Not only did I get to try this awesome shoulder bag and necklace before they hit stores, but I’m also featured on the Coach website (look under “New at Coach” for the MYNY link)!

I think of my style as very much a product of New York City — before I lived here, stylish to me was a Lacoste shirt and Lilly Pulitzer dress.  It was really only after a year or two of living in NYC that I started to get a little more experimental with what I wore, and a large reason for that was the sheer variety of what you see on the street every day.  One of the things I love about New York is that I can run out for coffee in jeans and flip flops and pass a line of people dressed to the nines waiting for brunch.  Or I can go out in some cute dress and sky high heels, and pass a random neighbor on our street, walking their dog in some cute vintage dress or high-waisted shorts.  Because there’s no standard, everything fits in.

This messenger bag was perfect for a variety of outfits, from a casual, hippie-chic dress with peep-toe clogs, to this black romper that, to me, is the epitome of NYC on-trend sophistication.  Kind of a little black dress, rethought.  And the peace sign necklace reminds me of a glitzy version of one of my favorite accessories as a kid — some things never go out of style.

Check out the other bloggers at coach.com/myny for styles based around the rest of the Poppy line!  Many thanks to Vanessa at Coach and Karen at Purple Lab for setting this up, and for the gorgeous bag and necklace!
