Cowboy Boots

Of all the boot trends that are surfacing this fall, this is the next one I plan to buy.  Cowboy boots have been popular for a few years now, and they’ve come down in price dramatically enough that I’m thinking seriously about getting a pair.  When I was in law school and these were first becoming popular, I checked with a few stores that sold good leather boots, but they were all over $600 range, and frankly, if I’m going to spend that much on shoes, I want them to have a red sole.

But now these babies have made their way to the mass retailers, and there are some great-looking options at reasonable prices.  From top left, clockwise:  Frye, Billy Pull on Western Boot, $268 at Shopbop; Lucchese Boots, $309 at Zappos; Frye, Billy Short Booties, $238 at Shopbop; Pompa Boot, $140 at Aldo.

Which one do you like the best?  I think my favorites are the top two.  Anyone have any cute versions I’ve missed?

I honestly don’t want to be a buzz-kill, but seriously, can there be a food-only RSS feed?

The ones on the top left (Billy by Frye) are the ones I’ve been stalking for a while now… I love them!

Going by brand, Lucchese are amazing. I have had the same pair of boots for 8 years and they are still in amazing condition. Granted I have had them resoled and tightned back up twice, but the quality of them is amazing, and I still wear them a few times a week.

my favorite boots are from an up & coming boot designer from Texas, named Christine de la Garza.

    Check out:

i love her styles because they are fashion forward but completely handcrafted western.  the designer/owner is from Texas but now lives in NY.  I went to a trunkshow last Fall and she was so down to earth and cool and spent 2 hours with me designing my boots and talking me thru how boots are made, etc.  Plus she just has a real interesting story and you just want to hang out with her.

all her boots are made in El Paso, Texas.  Every last thing done by hand, stitching included.

she’s working on getting her boots in stores, but the reason I opted to have some made, despite the pricey tag was because you can basically design your own pair of boots and accommodate for big calves (like mine!) or wider or bigger feet.

    check her stuff out!

The best thing about cowboys boots: added height without the clumsiness! :) So you don’t wind up walking abit like a duck or bounce too much when you run. haha :)

I have ones almost exactly like the one on the top left! Except I’ve had them for a few years and they’re Justin’s, not Fyre. I got them at a western store :)

I love the Lucchese–great color and the details are stunning.  Wish I could get a pair!

I prefer the high ones….but then again, i’m from texas…and i have always like the dallas cowboy’s cheerleader boots….i think the high heeled high almost to the knee cowboy boots are sexy…..try some on….i’m sure they’ll look good on you too! :)

Try Victoria’s Secret.. they usually have a few good pairs of Cowboy Boots to choose from each year… I’m totally bummed I missed the silver pair last year.  I’m from NE Oklahoma so I own several pair… a staple in my closet.
