I was a little bit of a sequin maniac last year — I probably tried on a hundred different dresses, tops, skirts, and tunics, before finally buying one that I have worn exactly, oh, um, once. It is actually kind of tough to come up with occasions for which it’s appropriate to be decked out in neck-to-knee sequins. (Go figure.)
So this year I’m going for sequins in less obtrusive patterns — more comfortable for me, more places to wear them to, and you still get a little bit of I’m-wearing-something-sparkly giddiness when you put them on. To me, this shirt is perfect — not to mention that it’s super-soft cotton underneath, unlike many of the sequined items I’ve tried on.
The lovely folks at Kendra Scott sent me these gorgeous earrings — close-up pics below — and I am totally in love. They’re perfect for this wearabe-glam outfit, and for probably a hundred others — I’m so thrilled they’re mine!
One more thing that bears noting, as I think about this outfit. I had this problem, while I was shopping around at Forever 21. I kept finding this really cute stuff that I couldn’t wait to try on… and then realize that I was standing in the plus size section. But how awesome is that? I only mention it because I can’t find the shirt I got on their website — but this one is the same style, in their plus-size line. Pretty darn adorable.
Forever 21 top, Splendid leggings, gifted Kendra Scott Freya earrings, Rachel Roy heels, H&M bangles, and the handcuffs necklace is from a store in Los Angeles whose name I don’t remember, although it looks a lot like this one.

Never thought sequins could be neutral, but you seem to have pulled it off with this look!
GLOSSING OVER IT

You look great and I love your earrings!!
This top is great and you can definitely wear it around more… I had that problem with a few sequin tops I bought at zara…. I feel like they are a little “much” to wear on any given day.

Don’t forget you also got me to buy a sequined top, too!
Maybe I should break it out.

Julie — They actually weren’t that expensive! Although I accidentally wore them for too long the first time and ended up with major blisters — now they’re broken in and great though! Thanks everyone!

Love the look, the shirt gave birth to leggings… what I mean by that is: the leggings aren’t just leggings anymore.. they are ready to wear couture matched up with that fab top.
