So, I concluded my Fashion’s Night Out post with “To be continued…” because I had a full day planned for Saturday — starting with the show for one of my favorite designers, Jill Stuart. I honestly couldn’t wait — not only was it my first show, but it was also one of the ones I was most excited for!
I was a little nervous going to the tents for the first time — all the episodes of Project Runway and the Rachel Zoe Project I’d watched felt totally inadequate to prepare me for the real thing. I’d peppered my fashionista friends with questions in the week leading up to Fashion Week, so I knew that (unlike the Emmy Awards), I could bring my good camera, I should wear something great (although, mixed impressions on whether I should wear the designer whose show I was seeing — sometimes I did, sometimes I didn’t), and that by the end of the week, I’d have spent a small fortune on taxis (painfully true).
But this whole week, I was like a kid in a candy store. Every show I saw, I could barely believe I was really there — and this show, most of all. I went out onto the red carpet before the show to snap photos of some of the celeb attendees and it felt a little unreal. My wild addiction to reality television paid off, because I’m pretty sure there was someone from every single one of my favorite shows — and a Gossip Girl to boot!
And then the show. From the first model to the last, the clothes were absolutely stunning. I started imagining places I’d be able to wear them to — from an outdoor, breezy summer wedding to a chic day of shopping with friends. I loved the sheer, flowy fabrics and how flawlessly everything was put together. I’m just they won’t be hitting the stores for six more months!
A sample of my photos below (see more on my Facebook album here) — and don’t forget to enter my Nestle chocolate giveaway by Wednesday. I’m going to be posting every day this week on the different shows I went to, so keep checking back!
