Monday night, I was invited to this unbelievably cool event for Lori Goldstein, stylist extraordinaire and the designer of the new line LOGO by Lori Goldstein for QVC.  She hosted a party for about twenty fashion bloggers in her gorgeous apartment, and each of us brought an item for her to style — something in our closets that we would never wear again.

What can a stylist really do, I wondered as I headed to the party.  Add a belt?  Roll up some sleeves?  For some reason, those were the only things I could come up with for my item, a tan suede jacket that I’d owned for a decade and only worn a handful of times.

But that is exactly why I am not a wildly successful stylist — because Lori can do a whole lot more than just adding a belt.  For each outfit, she added jewelry, changed skirt lengths, sliced off ruffles with scissors, turned things inside out, added great, edgy pants or a tailored jacket, and generally just totally overhauled every single item she was presented with.  Except for a few items, that she decided were fine the way they were — which, I’m sure, made their owners think quite differently about them.  Honestly, it was mind-blowing.

And she’s brought that stunning creativity to her new line, which is absolutely fantastic.  She added something from the LOGO line to each outfit, and for mine, she added a gorgeous crystal bracelet (in addition to ripping out the lining, shortening the sleeves and pinning the jacket to waist-length instead of hip-length — so cool!).  Everything was great, and I am also totally obsessed with these adorable booties and this amazing cardigan.

But my favorite thing about the event, without a doubt, was Lori herself.  She was so totally down to earth and fun to be around, and so excited about clothes — from turning our old castoffs into fun, transformed fashion-forward apparel, to showing us all the great options in her collection.  She told us to never be afraid to take risks with what she wore, which is pretty much the best advice ever, and also that everything you wear should be comfortable enough to sleep in, which is even better.

In addition, one of the things I was most impressed with is how soft the cotton is on all the clothing in this line.  One of Lori’s tee-shirts was in the gift bag, and I absolutely would have slept in it if I wasn’t worried about wrinkling it!  You’ll definitely see it on this site at some point (along with my revamped suede jacket, of course)!

A few more pictures below: the gorgeous collection of shirts from LOGO; the group of bloggers hanging on Lori’s every word; me, sitting with Jordan of Ramshackle Glam and Karen Robinovitz of the beauty line Purple Lab (whose awesome lip gloss was included, among other amazing items, in the gift bag!); and Lori, styling a blogger with a supercool draped cardigan from the LOGO line.

This was such a fun night, and I was so happy to be included!  Lori is going to be on QVC today from 3-4 pm, so go watch!  You can also become a fan of the LOGO line on Facebook here.

What a information of un-ambiguity and preserveness of precious
experience on the topic of unpredicted feelings.
