Pardon the interruption, but I have a very exciting non-Fashion-Week announcement!
A few weeks ago, I agreed to work with Ralph Lauren on their Pink Pony campaign, which is a separate line of Polo shirts and other products to benefit cancer care for those who need and can’t afford it. And what’s more fashionable than clothing with a charitable angle?
I’ve probably mentioned this before, but I grew up in Connecticut, where Polo shirts are pretty much a way of life. So when I got my Pink Pony short from Ralph Lauren, I wanted to make sure I didn’t do something totally typical with it — no khakis and Jack Rogers sandals for me, thank you very much. I ended up photographing two separate outfits because I wasn’t sure which I liked better — in the photo above, I paired the polo shirt with a skirt I made myself (you can see more of it here). In the ones below, I wore it over the long dress I used for these photos, which is one of my favorite things in my closetl! As I’m writing this, I don’t know which one the folks at Ralph Lauren chose for their Blogger slideshow — which do you guys like better?
If you want to get involved, you can do it in two ways:
- Ralph Lauren is holding a Charity Buzz auction from October 1st to October 21st, with some serious prizes (a front row seat to the Fall 2011 show, and your kid as the star of a Ralph Lauren ad), the proceeds of which will benefit the Pink Pony Fund, or
- Text PINKPONY to 501501 to automatically donate $10 to the Pink Pony campaign!
