I got this dress from Topshop, and even though it is probably the least weather-appropriate thing I could possibly wear in NYC in February, I am nothing short of obsessed.  And what better for Valentine’s day than a super girly, ruffle-y pink dress?  Well, I can think of one better thing: a girly pink dress with gold accessories and slightly edgy ankle boots.

And I have a Valentine’s Day giveaway for you guys!  I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter has offered a great prize: a $30 American Express gift card for your Valentine’s Day dinner, and a gorgeous white serving platter!  They sent me a set and they’re fantastic, perfect for serving homemade chocolate truffles or little bowls of champagne sorbet!

Enter by leaving a comment below letting me know your favorite Valentine’s Day dessert and I’ll announce a randomly selected winner on Thursday, February 18th!  And if you want to stay up with ICBINB news, follow them on Twitter here!

Anything chocolate! This year I’m trying this recipe:

Love the dress!!!!  I love anything chocolate, BUT this year I have given up added sugar, so there’s not much chocolate in the picture for me.  I plan on making a trifle with angel food cake, whipped cream, strawberries and a dark chocolate drizzle.  Keeping it light – but still decadent!

that dress is so pretty, definitely feminine and perfect for a romantic Valentine’s Day…  I love chocolate covered strawberries or chocolate dipped fruit, a bit sinful but oh so good!

  • 4 Sandy // Feb 10, 2010 at 5:54 pm

My fav dessert for Valentine’s day is chocolate mousse with choc dipped raspBerries.  I love your site and think your dress is cute.  Thanks!

love the pictures and the giveaway!  my favorite valentine’s day dessert is red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting — preferably in cupcake form!

  • 6 Megan // Feb 10, 2010 at 5:56 pm

In love with this look, but dying for the shoes! I <3 it for real.

Truffles + champagne sorbet sounds pretty dreamy too.

  • 7 Megan // Feb 10, 2010 at 5:58 pm

OH! And favorite valentine’s dessert would be Creme Brulee or Crepes with Nutella for sure!

  • 8 AJ // Feb 10, 2010 at 6:16 pm

    Goat cheese cheesecake… mmmmmm

Chocolate mousse or flourless chocolate cake, for sure. Thanks for the giveaway and your amazing recipes!

  • 12 Lauren // Feb 10, 2010 at 7:35 pm

Rich chocolate sauce and dulce de leche drizzled on rich vanilla ice cream…. but why wait until Valentine’s Day for that?!

  • 13 Lindsey // Feb 10, 2010 at 8:44 pm

Just started reading your blog and its great.  My go to valentines dessert is probably hazelnut chocolate fondue or maybe chocolate mousse.

  • 14 Allie // Feb 10, 2010 at 9:25 pm

Every year since I was sixteen my best friend (now boyfriend) and I would eat breakfast for dinner on Valentine’s day, since it’s my favorite.  I usually have pancakes or french toast, so no dessert necessary!

Also, Natalie, I have a recipe for chocolate lava cake with no flour or processed sugar.  It does have honey, and is absolutely amazing!

  • 15 Shawna // Feb 10, 2010 at 9:46 pm

We try something new every year… last year was panna cotta (delicious!), and this year I’m making chocolate lava cakes – with peanut butter!

Chocolate Hazelnut Gelato- so decadent… mmm….

  • 21 Christiane // Feb 11, 2010 at 5:42 am

Either creme brulee, or your chocolate hazelnut flourless tort…I made that last year, and it was AMAZING.

  • 22 Rebecca // Feb 11, 2010 at 5:46 am

Pretty dress!  I love chocolate cake :).  Thanks for the chance to win

  • 23 Natalie // Feb 11, 2010 at 5:57 am

I am a sucker for chocolate – so I love a good molten lava chocolate cake.  However, my guy and I are going to be together this year, and he’s more into more subtle sweetness – so I’ll probably make something involving fruit and whipped cream.

  • 24 Jen // Feb 11, 2010 at 6:04 am

I’m in love with pale pink right now! It’s so feminine and ballet-inspired. Do you have a link?

I made a Chocoholic Torte last year, which is an almost flourless chocolate cake with notes of coffee and cinnamon. It was rich, complex, decadent, and sensuous making it the perfect special occasion dessert.

    Thank you for giveaway opportunity!

  • 25 Maura // Feb 11, 2010 at 6:08 am

My favorite dessert for Valentine’s day is Chocolate Lava Cake, but I am making mini cupcakes this year.

  • 26 Sabrina // Feb 11, 2010 at 6:40 am

Anything creme brulee is a hit with the boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. So far I’ve just made your cinnamon recipe, and a Nutella one, but I’m hoping to try chocolate this year!

  • 27 Jenna // Feb 11, 2010 at 7:04 am

I absolutely love that dress – do you have a link by any chance? I tried to find it on the website without much luck.

My favorite V-day dessert is chocolate truffles paired with champagne dipped strawberries. You let the strawberries soak in champagne for a bit, then roll them in confectioners sugar right before you eat them.  Absolute heaven!

    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

  • 28 lindsay // Feb 11, 2010 at 7:12 am

  • 30 Katherine // Feb 11, 2010 at 8:14 am

Dessert Valentine’s Day can be the same as dessert any day. I still prefer chocolate mousse. I guess Valentine’s Day is more chocolate-oriented, which is a great thing for me! :-)

  • 31 Jessica R. // Feb 11, 2010 at 8:54 am

Got to go with chocolat molten lava cake.  Boring I know — but so decadent!

  • 32 Rosa Rassi // Feb 11, 2010 at 9:02 am

My favorite Valentine’s dessert is chocolate. This year I am baking banana and chocolate truffle cake layers with dark ganache and caramelized bananas, mmmm!

  • 33 Constance Brown // Feb 11, 2010 at 9:12 am

Chocolate mousse! Though I once had this chocolate chip calzone that was simply .. amazing. There are no words.

  • 34 emily b. // Feb 11, 2010 at 9:27 am

Chocolate souffle for sure! :) Really, anything chocolate will do!

  • 35 Jennifer // Feb 11, 2010 at 9:31 am

Definitely a chocolate torte, but the cute, V-day red velvet whoopie pies floating around the web look pretty cute, too…

Oh, by the way, I made a version of your pasta dish (I added basil and a tiny bit of half and half), and it was to die for! Thanks for a quick, easy weeknight meal.

I’m a big fan of chocolate cake double layer with frosting and a thick filling.  The denser the cake the better.

Love your dress!  It’s is so cute.  Thanks for the giveaway and hope you have an awesome Valentine’s.

  • 47 Jayne // Feb 11, 2010 at 7:30 pm

Hmm… chocolate has to be the most popular choice. And cheese! Put them together, I think I’d fancy a choc fudge baked cheese cake with choc sauce! :-)

i’m awe struck by your shoes, haha. For V-day i’m gonna have to say, ummmm, errrrr, brownie cubes!!! the ones with the powdered sugar on top. I’ve been staying away from desserts for my health but get me next to a platter of brownie cubes and forget about it!

  • 58 Laura // Feb 13, 2010 at 5:39 pm

That dress is adorable on you, and I love it juxtaposed against the winter cityscape- very artful.
My fav Valentine’s desert has got to be chocolate covered strawberries or brioche au chocolat- dust them with a bit of powdered sugar, and they’re absolutely heavenly! Pastry, chocolate, what’s not to love? ;)

  • 59 ikkinlala // Feb 13, 2010 at 7:27 pm

I’m one of those people who hates valentines day.  But I love desserts so trying to choose just one is tough.  Right now I’d go for something creamy and richie creme brulee or the tiramisu that is sitting in my fridge calling to me now.

  • 65 Karina // Feb 14, 2010 at 1:48 pm
