style: whitney eve spring 2011

My next show after Jill Stuart [1] was Whitney Eve, which was pretty exciting because this was the one where I was least sure what to expect.  As I’ve said regularly, I’m a huge reality TV junkie, so I feel like I’ve lived the ups and downs of Whitney’s career so far (for those of you who don’t know, she started on The Hills and now has her own show on MTV, The City).  But even though I loved her television show, I wasn’t ever crazy about her first collection.

This one though, was right up my alley.  I loved the fun, young prints and the flattering shapes.  I loved the beachy hair and minimal, natural makeup on the models.  And OMG, Whitney herself is so cute.  I first saw her as she went around to each of the models, checking in to make sure they weren’t too hot or tired (not sure what she could have done if they complained, but still, it was a nice gesture)!  I couldn’t tell if they were shooting for the City during the presentation (there were plenty of cameras around, not surprisingly), but if you happen to catch me in the background on the upcoming season, let me know!

The black romper in the first picture was my favorite look, but there were a bunch of others that I think will look chic and cute in the spring!  The one-shouldered romper below (what is it with me and rompers lately?) was just darling, and I loved the striped blazer.  Although I will probably wear it with a full shirt underneath, as I am not 6 feet tall and 90 pounds.

Whitney, however, who is so tall and gazelle-like that she could be a model herself, would look great in it.

Gorgeous off-the-shoulder top

Perfect young, summery blazer

Loved the pattern and shape of this romper

The beautiful designer

Roxy Olin from the City

Mix of patterns and neutrals on the models
