A few weeks ago, I asked on Twitter what hair and makeup tutorials you guys would like to see, and I got an awesome suggestion from Susie to do a Vintage Pin-Up Girl makeup look!
From that moment on, I couldn’t get this look out of my head. In part because it’s so different from my usual makeup, and in part because because it just sounded so dramatic and fun!
I originally thought of this as kind of a Katy Perry-inspired look, but with my new hair in loose curls, I thought it came out more like Veronica Lake. I keep forgetting that I’m blonde now! But if you’re looking for a little bit of old Hollywood glamour, this is a terrific one to try.
You could totally tone down this look a notch by eliminating the fake eyelashes, but for this video, I wanted to go all out. Hope you guys like it!
I used: Kat Von D Tattoo liner, MakeUp Forever Carolyn false lashes, an old Sephora palette with a neutral shadow, discontinued Bobbi Brown brow kit, MAC powder blush, L’Oreal lip liner in Always Red, Neutrogena lipstick in Poppy Red, Bobbi Brown Crystal lip gloss and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Porcelain Pink.
The dress is so old it’s almost vintage itself — it’s ABS, and I think I got it for a formal dance my sophomore year of college!
