if we make it to monday?

August 26th, 2011

Not going to lie, guys — I’m pretty freaked out about this hurricane!

I spent this week not being too worried about it, but it’s like the whole city suddenly went into panic mode!  Every store is sold out of flashlights (I’ll be burning my beautiful Tory Burch candles if we lose electricity) and I swiped up the last loaf of bread on the shelf at the grocery store about an hour ago!

I’m especially worried for Coco, who gets so scared of rain and storms as it is!  She’s going to be terrified this weekend.  This morning, I told her that she and I could snuggle in bed and watch movies all day on Sunday during the hurricane. . . upon which, Chad pointed out that our bed is right next to the windows and I can’t actually watch movies without electricity.  Combine that with my terror over losing the internet, and I’m starting to freak out!

(As a side note, those of you stocking up on disaster supplies, remember that your pets need extra food and water too!)

But… assuming we make it to Monday, there’s still Fashion Week to think about!  I think this outfit is a big improvement on the last one I posted, but I’d LOVE to get your feedback again!  I may ditch the green necklace in favor of some amazing borrowed bangles (i.e., stuff I could never afford) if all goes well, but this is the basic idea!

Keep safe everyone!

    Stay safe over there!

As for the dress, I like the over all feel of the dress but I feel like its too billowy. Maybe add a green belt or another color that would go with the necklace that isn’t green? I think the belt would be a must if yo decide to go with bangles.

    Just my two cents 🙂

I really like this one!  And I’m all for wearing jewelry you can’t afford… lucky girl!!!

The black looks AMAZING with your blonde hair.  But maybe you could change up the shoes a little?  The outfit is so simple, you could totally add some shoes with a little more pop (especially if you’re getting rid of the green necklace)!

I wasn’t scared until I found out five NYC hospitals had been evacuated!  Insane.  I bought some seltzer and powerade and I think I’ll bake a loaf of bread tomorrow.  before the power goes out 😛

Okay, this one I really love. I like the green necklace. If you go with the bangles maybe change the shoes to something a little bolder. Stay safe in the storm!

Thanks guys!  I think this one is a keeper — I wish I had time to tailor the dress because I agree it’s a little big! (But at $129, just saying…)

Joanne — I love that you’re making bread before the power goes out!  I’m such a lazy girl — I bought Wonderbread because it was all that was left!!!

I don’t want to be mean, but I don’t like this one; the overall look feels too ‘worky,’ like you’re meeting with your boss.

I think is the shoes and the bag that does it. Could you perhaps switch out your shoes up for one of these?

I’m not sure what kind of bag to use, but it needs to not be brown. The brown bag seems like an afterthought. Maybe limit your colour palette to black, gold & green?? In saying that though, an orange-red lippy would be superb!

Also, it might be the way you’re photographing the outfit, but the dress needs to be belted. You have lost all of your shape.

However, I LOVE your necklace & cuff and your hair looks good. I like that it’s straight, but with a slight curve in; super flattering.

Like this outfit! Specially the necklace!  But I would change shoes because I think that it looks more casual with them.

Even if I live in Europe I am pretty scared too.Plus few of my friends are in us right now so I am scared even more. I am just really happy that we don´t have got hurricane here..(for now..)

Stay safe!! I can’t believe how big this is getting. Earthquake and a hurricane all in week- insane!

I LOVE this dress, and the pop of bold from the necklace. I agree that the shoes could be changed for something a little more bold, but I think you look very classically beautiful in this outfit.

This outfit is definitely an improvement over the last outfit.  However, the dress is ill-fitting.  You’re teeny tiny and this dress makes you look like you have a huge pooch!
