Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 pound sweet Italian sausage, casings removed
1 large fennel bulb, cored and thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
3 cups chopped Swiss chard leaves
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
Toast the fennel seeds in a small skillet over high heat, shaking the skillet to keep the seeds from burning, until they are fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour the seeds onto a plate and set aside to cool to room temperature.
