Basic Deep-Fried Turkey Recipe

Ingredients
1 turkey, thawed and patted dry
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
Salt to taste
Directions
Place turkey on frying rig according to manufacturer's instructions, with legs pointing down. Add to empty frying vessel. Add water, measuring as you go, until turkey is barely submerged. Remove turkey and dry well with paper towels. Discard water and dry frying pot well, then fill with equivalent amount of oil.
