Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 ounces bacon, diced
2 large onions, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups apple cider or apple juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon fresh sage leaves, chopped
2 tart apples , cored and cut into wedges
Directions
Pat chicken legs dry with paper towel and season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in Dutch oven over over medium high heat until just smoking. Place chicken into pot, skin side down, and cook until well browned, about 5 minutes . Turn over and cook another 3 minutes. Transfer chicken to plate and pour off all but 2 tablespoons fat.
