I honestly can’t believe it’s September tomorrow. Something about this time of the year always makes me reflect, and lately it feels like things are changing faster than I can even keep track of them.
I remember a year ago, being as nervous as a kid on the first day of school when I went to my first round of fashion shows. I never worked in fashion or at a magazine — I’d never in the world get to go to something like Fashion Week if it weren’t for Sugarlaws, and if I ever forget that or stop being grateful, I hope that people stop inviting me. (Ok, that’s a lie. I hope no one ever stops inviting me!)
I picked up this dress on a lunchtime shopping run last week, and I’m only letting myself wear it once before Fashion Week. I hate it when I get so excited about clothes and then after wearing them a few times, I’m sick of them by the time the actual event I bought them for rolls around. I wouldn’t let myself look at too many photos of my wedding dress for just that reason — better to have it be a little bit of a surprise when you pull it out, no?
I sent these photos to my mom to show her the dress, and she commented that it looks like I’m sniffing my armpit in the last one. I decided to post it anyways because it was a good shot of the fishtail braid (tutorial here), but I’ll just say for the record, I was doing the not-at-all-contrived arm-over-the-head blogger pose, and not checking for b.o., I promise.

Haha – you don’t look like you’re sniffing your armpit! I LOVE everything about this look, by the way – from your hair to the dress to the shoes to the bag. You nailed it! Great fashion week dress and a great transition into fall. (I know, summer is over. Depressing.)
