I usually consider myself a beauty product loyalist, but no one is happier than me when a new product comes onto my radar and immediately becomes a go-to.

Fashion Week can be exhausting — on both your body and your skin — and I’m always looking for products that will give me a boost during those nights when I need it the most!  I always try to get a solid eight hours of sleep, but so often my morning shows, wanting to put up a post the next day, or just wanting to spend some time with Chad and the pups got in the way!  And when I don’t get enough sleep, my skin is the first thing to show it — no matter how much moisturizer I slather on, it never feels like enough.

Which is why I was so excited when DDF sent me their new Amplifying Elixir.  This isn’t just another moisturizer, it’s a pre-moisturizer product that will boost the effectiveness of what you use after it!  It’s super smooth and light, and I used it every night this week (and after) — I could really tell the difference once I started using it, everything soaked into my skin better and felt like it really absorbed into my skin, as opposed to just sitting on the surface.

And thanks to DDF, I got to do an incredibly fun interview with Giuliana Rancic this week!  She’s been using Amplifying Elixir too, and loves it (almost) as much as I do!  And almost as great, she gave me some really great makeup tips to pass on to you guys!

For one — sleep in your eye makeup!  I never do this, but when I have, she’s totally right — everything looks better in the morning once it’s smudged and sex-ified!  And, like me, she’s devoted to water misting sprays when she’s traveling to keep her skin fresh.  She also said that she never wears foundation — just tinted moisturizer when she’s on camera — because she takes great care of her skin and needs less makeup because of it.  I’m not quite there yet (pretty addicted to my foundation), but it’s nice to have something to aspire to!

So thank you SO much to DDF, for saving my skin during a very grueling week!  I’ll be using this one for many months to come — it’s already become an everyday staple!

Hmm I think I definitely need to try this one out! Can it be found in regular beauty stores, or is at a specialty store?

Hey Laura!  It’s actually at Sephora, so it should be easy to find!

that sounds awesome? is it a serum or moisturizer? However, I don’t agree with sleeping in eye makeup ever! I thought the rule is always clean your face before you sleep no?

The sleeping in eye make-up tip isn’t one I’m likely to follow.  Doesn’t she shower and/or wash her face in the morning???!!!

I do like her and I’m sure it was fun meeting her.

I totally understand the hesitation on the eye makeup — to explain a little, I asked Giuliana what the craziest beauty advice she’d gotten from a celeb she interviewed, and she said that one — and then said that when she’d tried it, it totally works!  I think you’d want to wash your face but leave the eyes alone.

And it’s a serum — you’d use a moisturizer too, it just helps the moisturizer be more effective!
