grunge revisited

I LOVED getting to join the Cotton Style Search Squad in Houston last week -- we had such a blast snapping pictures of the cute girls (and guys) running around doing last minute Christmas shopping, and I loved seeing my city through the lens of a street style photographer. I kept thinking about all the trends we saw as I was putting together outfits later in the week, and the one I kept coming back to was 90's throwback flannel.

I love this look because it's perfect for anything from a Monday afternoon to a Friday night -- the kind of outfit I'll throw on to head out for dinner to a neighborhood restaurant, or just to lounge around the house on a quiet weekend. When I find a great, soft cotton top, I basically just live in it.

And on that note, a confession: I still shop at Abercrombie. Like, regularly. Even though I am no longer in high school. I can't help it -- I'll always have a soft spot for comfy pieces and flattering fits at mall prices. A 100% cotton flannel shirt in that perfect 90's era plaid? Priceless.

(No, ok, not actually priceless -- $58, if you insist on knowing. But priceless to me.)
