I haven’t had that many summers in Houston, and I’ve been lucky that the ones I’ve been through have been pretty mild.  For a city that’s supposed to be so brutally hot, I find that I don’t notice it because I spend most of the day inside.  But then we’ll go for a walk in the afternoon or into our neighborhood for dinner and boom — the heat (the humidity, ugh)!  Still, these midsummer days are so beautiful that I try to go outside no matter what.

And as the end of summer rolls around, it’s almost time for Fashion Week!  This outfit is one of my top contenders — I love the breezy summer prints, but I wonder if it’s too un-seasonal for September in NYC!  What do you guys think?  (No matter how much I try to plan ahead, I never make these decisions until the last minute anyway!)

Just realized there are so many photos in this post!  I usually keep mine to 4 or 5, just to keep myself in check a little, but this one was so cute that I took a whole bunch!

Zara crop top (similar here and here), Sabo Skirt skirt (similar), C. Wonder necklace, Herve Leger sandals, gifted Shoemint bag.

That yellow skirt is so cute!  I love that you’ve used it in so many different outfits, who knew neon yellow was so versatile?!

Love I love this outfit together but you’re right, it is a little summery. Trade the skirt for high-waisted leather shorts (or a leather skirt in the same silhouette as your neon one) and you’ll have a slightly more seasonally-appropriate version of the same look :)

(I think adding leather is my answer to every fashion-related question but I swear it really does make such a difference!)

I agree, leather makes everything transitional!  I have a cute Zara leather skirt that may work — will try it this weekend!  xo
