Do you guys make New Year’s Resolutions? I have a strategy that I use every year: I make a handful of small, easy to follow resolutions and then I make sure that I stick with them throughout the year. When I was a big gym-goer, it used to drive me crazy how packed my gym was the first few weeks of January, and then by May there was no one in sight. It’s too easy to give up when you try to overhaul your life — you have to stick to manageable, small goals, and then really put in the effort.
So with that in mind, here are my resolutions for 2013! It will be interesting to look back and see how many of them I actually followed.
1) Health: As hard as I tried, 2012 was definitely not my healthiest year. In the new year, I want to concentrate more on exercise and on taking time to de-stress and appreciate everything I have. It’s too easy for me to get caught up in the “I have to do everything right this minute” mindset, and I’m going to make a real effort to STOP doing that this year. Whether it’s taking a few minutes for a walk outside or just putting on my favorite song on the drive home, I’m going to make sure not to forget the small moments this year.
2) Self: 2012 was all about getting myself into a skincare routine, and 2013 is going to be about pumping it up. I’ve been great about using Simple Skincare’s awesome cleansers and moisturizers, but I want to incorporate the Revitalizing Eye Roller into my morning routine (I hate puffy eyes in the morning and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long!) and to experiment with their Soothing Facial Toner! I haven’t used a toner regularly since high school, and I can’t wait to see how much they’ve improved!
3) Sugarlaws: I’m really making an effort in 2013 to incorporate more video onto Sugarlaws, and to improve the quality of my photos! I got into a little bit of a rut by the end of 2012, and I’m looking forward to being more creative, more innovative, and paying more attention to detail in the new year. You’ve already seen a couple of new videos on here, but look for more soon!
