So, I loved my outfit for the Decade of Style party so much that I figured it deserved a post of its own!  One of the things I like the most about fashion is just when you get the basics down, you’re expected to start taking some calculated risks.

Mismatched shoes to the Golden Globes?  Um, no thank you.

But a romper in the middle of January?  That one, I can work with.

You guys last saw this romper here, when I spent a Saturday in the middle of June laying on the floor of the gorgeous Gavin Brown Enterprise gallery.  It was a bit of a challenge to make this same piece appropriate for a between-snowstorms February night where your fingers start to get frostbitten if you take off your gloves long enough to use the touchscreen on your iPod (sigh).

I picked up this belt and gorgeous Alexis Bittar bracelet at Intermix on super-sale after Christmas, but the real clincher of this outfit is the stunning bag that Brahmin sent me.  My mom took one look at these photos and said that it reminds her of a Prada bag she bought last year, and to me it has that easy, structured Balenciaga feel, without the four-figure price tag.

I know I’m going to be carrying it nonstop during Fashion Week too — because it’s a lot easier to take some fashion risks when you’re perfectly accessorized.  Not to mention, it’s big enough to hold my camera, kindle and a spare pair of ballet slippers!

I’m wearing: Black Halo romper, gifted Brahmin handbag, BCBG necklace, Intermix belt, Alexis Bittar bracelet, gifted Charlotte Russe boots.

I’m usually not a huge fan of rompers, but this one is so chic! It looks great on you, and its not too “cutesy.” Its almost like a little black dress. And oh, that bag… *drool* I love a perfect, go-with-everything bag. Can’t wait to hear everything about Fashion Week! I really must move to NYC.

But my dear, how are you not freezing to death??

I really like this outfit! And that bag… well, I started searching for that bag once I saw it in your other post. Now I know where to find it… :)

Still not appropriate for January. I mean, it looks nice and all, but it’s way too cold to wear that! If you’re comfortable, though, rock it. It looks great.

I meant to say February, btw. Around here Feb = Jan in terms of weather anyway.

Winter is brutal that way!  For the most part, I think I prefer freezing in cute clothes, but it’s definitely a trade-off!  I’ll be busting out the overcoats again once Fashion Week is over….

I have loved this leather from Brahmin forever, but could never find a design that I had to have.  I let out a little squeal when I saw this one.  Love, love the design and that fact that it is big enough to carry my life around in.  My sweet husband just got me my own for valentines….thank you for sharing!

Absolutely Love Brahmin bags.  I get compliments on them everywhere…  They do have the look and quality of a 4 figure bag.  Big enough to take the iPad and a huge makeup bag or appointment book and still so stylish…
