Sugarlaws: Living Sweetly.

It’s kind of weird to see me with non-urban background, no?

For the past few weeks, as everyone has talked to us about all the great things about Houston, this little voice in my head (and sometimes out loud) has been going, “sure, but where am I going to do my Sugarlaws photos?”

Today was my first time scouting out locations, and on the recommendation of a few friends, I went straight to Houston’s museum district (which is gorgeous)!  I couldn’t resist climbing this amazing oak tree whose branches hung almost to the ground — if only I didn’t have to take off my heels to do it!

My hair is a bit of a disaster in these photos — this is the longest I’ve gone without a touch up since going blonde, and it definitely shows.  I was warned about the upkeep, but it always seems like those weeks in between appointments go by in an instant!  But now that we’re all unpacked, I’ll definitely be scouting out the best beauty spots in the city!

Splendid dress, gifted B Brian Atwood heels, Forever 21 necklaces, Ben Amun clear bangle, Aqua beaded bracelets, gifted Rebecca Minkoff MAB purse.

I think you look prettier than ever, you seem so happy and relaxed.  How is the transition?  My husband and I just moved from Europe to S. Carolina, and I’ve been having a hard time adjusting…

Oh so pretty!  Beautiful color on you.  And I think you’re hair looks fab……..it looks end-of-summer and oh so good ;-) I’m actually in the same spot (going in tomorrow) and I’ve gotten three compliments in the last week.

Hope you are loving Houston — you look great!  I took pics at the museum district when I was in Houston for a wedding, how funny?  I loved all the big trees! http://www.suitcasesecrets.com/stepping-out-houston/

Ash — it’s so old!  Like, at least three years old, but I got it on sale at shopbop, if that helps!

I lived in Houston for 15 years before moving to VA three months ago.  I am going to miss the warm weather the most.  You are going to love it.
Try Salon Ceron (or something to that affect) for your hair.
Houston is the third largest city in America.  I’m certain that you will find some urban spots.  There are plenty.
