Ingredients
- 2 cans Whole Plum or San Marzano Tomatoes
- 4 Tbsp salted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups Progressoâ"¢ Chicken Stock
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, optional

- Set a large pot over medium heat and melt the butter. While it warms, pour the canned tomatoes and their juices into a blender and puree until smooth, or stop with a few small chunks if you like more texture.
- Add the garlic to the pot and cook for 30 seconds, then pour in the tomatoes and chicken stock. Bring the soup to a gentle bubble.
- Lower the heat and let the soup simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in half of the basil, then season with salt and pepper if you’d like.
- Pour the soup into bowls, drizzle each serving with cream if using, and finish with the remaining basil. Serve warm.
