A Quick Update

Hey guys!

It's been a while, but I wanted to give a quick update on some big things.

I had another baby! Will is adorable and eight months old last week. He's absolutely wonderful and it's a lot easier the second time around -- I actually feel like I know what I'm doing! (Sometimes, at least.)

I've been making some fun changes with this blog. I promised a big redesign a while ago and kind of only got halfway there. I finally (after a lot of work) updated the webpage itself, but then the project sort of took off in a whole new direction, and I realized I was more interested in the work of redesigning the site than anything else I could think about doing.

So I started a series of programming projects that included re-building this blog without Wordpress, building a to-do list app in Javascript, building an educational game site, and a few others. And then a few weeks ago, I came back to this blog with a fun idea: rather than manually creating a lot of new content, I figured I'd refresh the site by highlighting some favorite posts from back in my recipe days.

I wrote a script that would pick one of my old recipes and feature them every few days, and a hundred tries later, I actually got it to work. And now I'm working on parsing some of my old posts into component pieces, so I can feature recipes more easily and in different formats. (Hopefully this should be done in the next few weeks, but time is a little limited with an eight month old and a full time job!)

Anyways, just a small update, and hopefully some bigger changes soon!
