Ingredients
- 1 cup finely-chopped palm sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 1 bird's eye chili, finely chopped
- 3 to 4 fresh tart, crisp apples, cut into slices
Directions
Add the palm sugar and water to a small saucepan over medium-low heat, and whisk only until the sugar has dissolved. Take the pan off the heat, then whisk in the salt and chili. Check both the texture and the seasoning: the dip should be as thick as honey, with sweetness first and saltiness right behind it. Add a little more water and/or salt if needed. Serve the dip alongside the apple slices. Any leftover dip can be stored in the refrigerator indefinitely.
