Baby Bump: 12 Weeks!

Ok, ok: I know it's not much of a baby bump yet -- but you can't fault me for being excited, can you?
I got this dress during Fashion Week, and at first, knowing that I was about six weeks pregnant then, I immediately thought to myself: oh great, I finally have this amazing Herve Leger dress, and I'm not going to be able to wear it for the next year! But then I started thinking: actually, tight clothes are kind of cute when you're pregnant. It's kind of the one time in your life that you don't have to worry about sucking in (yay) and the second I started getting the hint of a bump, I kind of wanted to flaunt it!
You guys may have noticed that in the last few weeks, I've had a carefully placed bag over my midsection in a lot of my outfit photos -- obviously I wasn't really "showing" yet (and probably won't be in non-skintight dresses for a while), but I was trying to keep it under the radar as much as I could until we were ready to share the news. I have a few unobstructed photos that I may put up as a batch at some point, although I feel like you really couldn't see a "bump" until the last week or so.
I know there's still a long way to go, but I'm really excited to see what the next six months have in store for me (us)! I'm sure there will be rough days, but right now, I just feel incredibly lucky and happy. Thank you guys so much for all the amazing emails, comments, tweets, and Facebook and Instagram messages -- I knew that sharing this news would make everything a hundred times more wonderful, but it was more special than I even imagined. (I'm tearing up now just writing this post, but I totally blame the pregnancy hormones!) Thank you all so, so, so very much. It's amazing to know that this baby will have good wishes coming its way from all over the world!
Gifted Herve Leger dress (there's nothing like the original, but I also found lower priced versions here and here), Kate Spade necklace (found at T.J. Maxx), Zara heels, Samantha Wills bangles.
(Also, I did a little pregnancy q&a! Scroll down for my 12 week update!)
How far along? 12 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 4 pounds
Maternity clothes? Still no, although I ordered my first few pairs of maternity pants this week (I know, I know, way too early but I found great sale prices and couldn't resist!). I'd rather have some things earlier than I need them, compared to scrambling when everything suddenly doesn't fit!
Stretch marks? Nope.
Symptoms: Hardly any nausea or tiredness (for the whole first trimester, actually!) but I do have one really annoying symptom: my normally very clear skin has been breaking out for the past few weeks! I've been trying a bunch of things to clear it up, but so far that's my most frustrating pregnancy symptom.
Sleep: Oh my gosh, this is weird -- I have the most crazy, vivid dreams! They're like nothing I've ever experienced before. Sometimes they're terrifying and other times they're kind of fun, but I've never had such insanely realistic dreams before in my life, ever. I'm actually sleeping better than I did pre-pregnancy, which is amazing!
Best moment this week: Revealing the news to you guys!
Worst moment of the week: My first set of bloodwork came back with one result slightly elevated: my blood sugar. Apparently this means I'll get tested early for gestational diabetes, but hopefully it's just a precaution as I was just barely outside of the normal range. I asked the nurse if the result could be caused by me over-indulging in Halloween candy (I've been *terrible* for the last few weeks -- I'm pregnant!) and she said it definitely could, so I'm trying to cut out a lot of the candy and ice cream I've been snacking on. (Boo.)
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Up until this week, I would have said wine, but this week I haven't really missed it at all. I do still miss unpasteurized cheese a LOT!
Movement: None yet, but that might be coming in the next few weeks so I'm trying to pay attention!
Food cravings: I've only had one so far, and it was at about 7 or 8 weeks: Lobster! We were trying to decide where to go for dinner, and suddenly, I needed lobster more than ANYTHING IN THE WORLD EVER. The baby has expensive taste!
Anything making you queasy or sick: This isn't really a "thing" but: Skipping meals. I tried to skip breakfast once this week and it was the worst I've felt in forever.
Have you started to show yet: A little!
Gender prediction: I had a really vivid dream a few weeks ago that it was a girl, so I've been thinking that. Usually I'm a little superstitious and I tend to put a lot of stock in dreams, but mine have been so crazy and weird lately that I don't really think they mean anything. We're going to find out the gender as soon as possible though, so hopefully we'll know in a few weeks!
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender so I can start planning the nursery! I've bought a few small things already, but I'm saving most of the planning until we know if it's a boy or a girl. I can't wait!
