Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta
- 1 lb frozen broccoli florets
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 3 Tbsp grated Parmesan
- Salt to taste
- Freshly cracked pepper to taste
- Pinch crushed red pepper, optional
Directions
Set a pot of water over high heat and bring it to a full boil. Stir in the pasta and cook until al dente, 7-10 minutes. Tip in the frozen broccoli florets, switch off the burner, and leave everything in the hot water for 1-2 minutes, until the broccoli is tender-crisp. Pour the pasta and broccoli into a colander to drain. Return them to the pot, keeping the heat off, or place them in a bowl, then add the butter. Toss until the butter melts and slicks all the pasta and broccoli. Sprinkle in the Parmesan, salt, freshly cracked pepper, and red pepper flakes, and toss once more so everything is coated. Taste, tweak the seasoning if it needs it, and serve right away.
