Brie and Nutella Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 slices crusty French bread
  • 2 to 3 ounces Brie, rind removed
  • 3 tablespoons Nutella

Directions

  1. Warm a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, then add one-third of the butter. Once the butter has melted and the bubbling has calmed, lay in the bread and cook, moving the pan now and then, until the undersides are lightly golden, about 2 minutes.
  2. Move the bread to a cutting board with the browned sides facing up. Arrange the sliced Brie on 2 slices, then spread the Nutella evenly over the 2 remaining slices. Put the sandwiches together so the toasted sides are on the inside.
  3. Add another one-third of the butter to the skillet and turn the heat down to medium-low. Place the sandwiches in the pan and cook, giving the skillet an occasional swirl, until the first side is deeply and evenly browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Lift the sandwiches out with a flexible metal spatula, then add the remaining butter to the pan. Put the sandwiches back in with the cooked side facing up. Continue cooking, swirling the pan from time to time, until the second side is deeply and evenly browned and the cheese has melted all the way through, about 5 minutes. Serve immediately.
