british invasion!

August 16th, 2013

So, I’ve probably mentioned this before, but: Totally coincidentally, our house is basically England-themed.  Our living room rug is a neutral version of the British flag, we have Union Jack barstools, a Banksy print, canvas prints of Rolling Stones photos, and even a (zombie-themed, obviously) Keep Calm and Carry On print.  Basically, when I was decorating, if it was in some way related to England, it was going into our house.

I actually didn’t even realize I was doing it until we got everything together, and suddenly it dawned on me what I’d done!  But I kind of like it — even if our actually British friends are probably a little weirded out by it!  But the fact is, from Kate Middleton to Kate Moss, that country produces a lot of serious style.

And I’m so excited that it’s hitting the states!  You guys know I’ve been routinely obsessed with Banana Republic’s designer collaborations, and this season they teamed up with a major player: Issa!  So any of you guys who want a little connection to Duchess Kate (particularly at substantially less than the normal Issa price point — this dress is only $130!) will be psyched to check out this collection!

I wanted to go a little ladylike and streamlined with this outfit, so I paired it with my favorite Brahmin purse and a Hermes cuff that just seems to go with everything (it was a birthday present from my parents two years ago)!  This could totally go from work to a night out — in major style!

Gifted Banana Republic x Issa dress, gifted Brahmin purse (this color is from a few seasons ago but the shape is still available!), Hermes cuff, Brian Atwood sandals (similar).

I wanted a dress from the collection but I’ve already spent so much money this month that I had to resist, maybe I’ll get one eventually 😀
You styled that one so beautifully!

I would say that the sandals are going along with the dress like they are extensions to it. Nice clicks 🙂

That print looks super cute on you. Love the accent on the heels too.

[…] I’ve loved Brahmin bags for years now — from carrying them at Fashion Week to toting this new favorite everywhere this summer, I’m a die-hard fan and can’t wait to see their new holiday […]
