Ingredients
- 3 crowns broccoli
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 1/2 Tbsp sambal
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
Directions
- Heat the oven to 425 degrees. Cut the broccoli into two-bite pieces. Smaller bits can shrivel and dry out as they roast, while oversized florets will take more time to cook through.
- In a bowl large enough for all the broccoli, mix the vegetable oil, sesame oil, sambal, garlic and brown sugar until smooth and even. Add the broccoli florets and toss until the sambal mixture coats them well. This takes a little more stirring than you might expect, but it comes together.
- Coat a baking sheet with non-stick spray. Arrange the seasoned broccoli across the pan in a single layer, then season it generously with salt.
- Roast for 25 minutes, until the broccoli has softened but still has some snap in the middle. The tips and edges should look browned and a little wilted.
