Ingredients
- 5-6 slices white bread or french bread
- 1/4 cup salted butter, softened
- 6 Tbsp light-brown sugar
Directions
- Warm a nonstick griddle or frying pan over medium heat. In a small bowl, mash the butter and brown sugar together with a fork until the mixture is blended.
- Spread about 1/2 Tbsp of the butter mixture across each side of the bread, using about 1 Tbsp total for each slice.
- Set the coated bread in the heated nonstick pan and cook until the underside is golden, about 1 to 2 minutes. Turn it over and cook the other side until the bottom is golden too. Continue the same way with the remaining slices. Take the candied bread off the heat, keeping the warm slices separate so they do not stick together, and serve warm. You can also let them cool and place them in an airtight container, though they are best warm.
