Ingredients
- 4 cups corn Chex
- 3 cups rice Chex
- 1 cup wheat Chex
- 2/3 cup peanuts
- 1 cup pretzel sticks
- 2 cups bagel chips
- 2 cups small rice crackers
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh juice from about 2 limes
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 6 tablespoons Chaat Masala spice mixture
Directions
- Set your oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Put the Chex cereals into a big bowl, then add the peanuts, pretzels, bagel chips, and rice crackers.
- Melt the butter together with the brown sugar, either in a small saucepan or in the microwave. Take it off the heat, then stir in the lime juice and salt.
- Pour the buttery mixture over the cereal mixture, and toss until everything is coated evenly.
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil, then spread the mixture across it in one even layer. Bake for about 45 minutes, tossing the mix every 15 minutes, until it is dry and crisp.
- While the Chex mix is still warm, scatter the chaat masala over the top and toss until it is evenly coated. Let it cool and eat, or keep it in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
