Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 12 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg plus 1 egg yolk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
- Set your oven racks in the upper-middle and lower-middle spots, then heat the oven to 325 degrees F. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter with the sugars for 1 minute. Add the egg, the yolk, and the vanilla extract, and whisk again. Stir in the dry mixture only until the dough comes together, then fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Portion the dough into 1/4 cup scoops and place them on a baking sheet. Bake until the edges are lightly golden, about 15 minutes. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet.
