Crispy Citrus-Candied Pistachios
Sweet-spiced pistachios get a citrusy glaze and a crisp toasted finish for a bright, crunchy snack or topping.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 cup shelled pistachios
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed orange juice
Directions
- Move an oven rack to the lower-middle position, then heat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a small bowl, stir the pistachios with the lemon syrup until the nuts are evenly coated. Transfer them to a rimmed aluminum baking sheet lined with parchment, not waxed paper or aluminum foil.
- Bake until the pistachios turn a deep amber shade, 12 to 15 minutes. The acidic syrup darkens boldly as it cooks, so the color can look more intense than you expect; don’t assume that means the nuts are burning.
