Our Favorite Carpet Cleaner

Every parent of many knows the specific dread of a full sippy cup tipping over on carpet. In our house it’s grape juice on the stairs, a muddy shoe print by the door, or the occasional pet accident nobody confesses to. We used to blot at these with a rag and dish soap, work it in worse, and end up with a crusty spot that announced itself for months.

Mom swears it erases juice spills and pet accidents on contact, and she’s not exaggerating — you spray, scrub, and watch it suck the mess right back out of the carpet and into the tank. It’s small enough to keep handy in the closet, so it actually gets used the moment something happens instead of after the stain has set, which is why it’s the spot cleaner we grab first.

We priced out full-size carpet machines and the rent-a-cleaner route, but the Little Green won on practicality for a big family. It stores anywhere, hauls out to the minivan for car-seat disasters, and saves us the $40-a-day rental every time a toddler has a moment. At around $94.99 it paid for itself in a couple of averted rentals, and it handles upholstery and stairs the big units can’t easily reach. For messes that happen daily, having the tool right there beats having a better tool in a store.
