Our Favorite Computer Monitor

The great desk debate at our house went on for months. Dad wanted room to spread out three work windows without squinting, and our oldest wanted a screen that did his games justice, and neither one wanted to surrender the desk to the other. The old monitor was too small for either job, so it became a nightly standoff over who got the good seat.

The LG Ultragear 32-inch Curved monitor finally ended that argument. The 32-inch curved QHD screen is big enough that Dad can keep three windows open for work during the day and still wrap a couple of kids into a movie on it at night, and the 180Hz refresh makes our oldest’s games look buttery smooth. As Dad puts it, the curve pulls you right in, and everything feels instant.

We looked at a few smaller flat monitors and a couple of splashy ultrawides, but the small ones did not solve the crowding and the ultrawides ran well into four figures. The Ultragear is the rare screen that is genuinely great for work and for play without the premium price tag, which is exactly why we chose it. One monitor now does the job of two, and the desk debate has finally gone quiet.
