Our Favorite Hotel & Airbnb Gear
Hotels and rentals rarely have everything a family needs, so a few pieces of gear make the trip feel more like home. The travel gear we chose is the Graco Pack 'n Play On The Go: it folds up for the car, sets up fast in a hotel room, and gives the baby a familiar place to sleep. Here's the one we'd buy again first, plus the rest of the list.

Graco Pack 'n Play® On The Go™ Playard, Kaden
This is the travel bed we would pack first. It sets up in a hotel room or rental in a couple of minutes, gives the baby a familiar place to nap and sleep, and folds into its own bag for the trunk.
Check price on AmazonGear earns a spot here if it fills a gap most hotels and Airbnbs leave: a safe place for the baby to sleep, a seat for the car, a way to get wrinkles out, a little help with sleep in a strange room. It also has to pack down small enough to be worth bringing.
The Graco playard is for families with a baby or toddler. The Chicco GoFit Plus backless booster is for older kids riding in rentals and rideshares. The Jack & Rose travel steamer handles wrinkled clothes, and the Dreamegg white noise machine helps light sleepers settle in a new place.
The Graco Pack 'n Play at the top is the one we’d buy again first.

Check priceWhy we chose it
Rental cars and vacation houses have a way of exposing the one thing you forgot. We learned this the hard way at an airport counter, realizing the rental had no proper seat for our 8-year-old and the clock was ticking. Traveling with a big crew means the away-from-home gear matters just as much as what is in your living room.
The Chicco GoFit Plus backless booster became our go-to travel seat for exactly this reason. It is light, it packs down easily into the luggage pile, and the latch connectors clip it securely into a rental car in about a minute. The cup holders alone buy us some peace on a long drive to the vacation house, and it gives the middle kids the boost they need without hauling a bulky full seat across the country.
Next to the other travel boosters we weighed, the Chicco GoFit Plus won on being genuinely packable without feeling cheap. A couple of bulkier seats were safer feeling but a nightmare to fit around everything else, and a barebones backless option skipped the latch that makes us trust it in an unfamiliar car. This one travels light, installs fast in whatever rental we end up with, and holds up to being tossed in and out of trunks all week. For hotel and Airbnb trips, it is the gear that lets us actually relax once we arrive.
