Our Favorite Packing Systems
Packing for a big family trip can eat a whole evening if every suitcase is a free-for-all. The packing system we chose is the BAGAIL 8-set packing cubes: enough cubes to give every kid their own, they flatten clothes down, and unpacking at the hotel takes minutes. Here's the one we'd buy again first, plus the rest of the list.

BAGAIL 8 Set Packing Cubes Luggage Packing Organizers for
These are the packing cubes we actually pack with. With eight of us, the set has enough cubes to give every kid their own, so a shared suitcase stops turning into a jumbled mess and unpacking at the hotel takes minutes. They squish clothes down flat and zip shut without splitting.
Check price on AmazonA packing system earns a spot here if it keeps each person’s things separate, saves real space in a shared suitcase, and survives being zipped, unzipped and stuffed again by kids. We also looked for things that make the hotel end easier, not just the packing end.
For everyday organizing, the BAGSMART compression packing cubes and the Aerotrunk compression cubes squeeze a little more out of each bag. For bulky stuff like jackets and bedding, the vacuum bags from UPGOGO and the electric-pump travel set shrink things way down, and the ALMING compression bags do it without a pump. The BAGSMART hanging toiletry bag keeps the bathroom counter sane, and the MATEIN rolling garment bag is for trips with dressy clothes.
The BAGAIL set at the top is the one we’d buy again first.

Check priceWhy we chose it
Packing for a family of our size is its own kind of madness. Eight people, one deadline, and a pile of clothes that never seems to fit into the suitcases the way it did on the way out. For years we crammed everything in loose, then spent the whole trip digging through jumbled bags to find one kid’s clean shirt.
The BAGAIL 8 Set packing cubes finally brought some order to the chaos. We give each kid a color or a cube, roll their outfits in, and suddenly a shared suitcase makes sense — the little ones’ things stay separate from the middle kids’, and nobody unpacks the whole bag to find socks. At around twenty dollars for the set, it was an easy thing to try without overthinking it.
Compared with the pricier organizer systems we looked at, the BAGAIL set punched well above its price. Some premium cubes cost several times as much for organization we did not need, and a cheaper knockoff we considered had zippers that looked ready to give out on the first trip. These have held up to being stuffed, squished, and hauled through airports by kids, they compress a shocking amount into each bag, and they keep our suitcases sane. For everyday family travel, they are the small purchase that fixes a big headache.
