Our Favorite Walking Pad
Between school runs, work and homework help, a real workout often doesn't happen, but a walk at your desk can. The walking pad we chose is the UREVO Smart Walking Pad: it slides under a couch or desk when you're done, it's simple to run, and it costs far less than a full treadmill. Here's the one we chose, plus a few others we seriously considered.

UREVO Smart Walking Pad Under Desk Treadmill
This is the walking pad we'd choose. It's slim enough to slide under a couch, quiet enough for a work call, and it runs from a remote, so walking during the workday actually happens.
Check price on AmazonBefore you buy, check four things: Size and storage, because a walking pad only works if it can slide under a bed or couch when you’re done. Noise, since you may want to walk during calls or while a little one naps. Weight capacity, so every adult in the house can use it. Handlebar or incline, which turn a walking pad into more of a workout but add size and cost.
For walking at a standing desk, a flat pad with no handlebar is simplest. If you want to jog or climb, look at the models that fold out a handlebar or add incline.
The UREVO Smart Walking Pad at the top is the one we chose. Below it are the others we considered: the Cardirun with incline and a handlebar, the MERACH for automatic incline up to 12 percent, the WalkingPad Z1R that folds to store upright, the Egofit Walker Pro for all-day desk walking, and a few foldable models that double as a small treadmill.
