Ingredients
- 1/2 cup honey
- 6 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp olive oil, plus more for brushing grill
- 4 garlic cloves, minced, 1 1/2 Tbsp
- 1/4 – 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, optional
- 36 extra large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Chopped green onions or parsley, for garnish, optional
Directions
- Whisk the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic cloves and red pepper flakes, if you’re adding them, in a mixing bowl until the marinade looks smooth and blended.
- Put the shrimp in a gallon size resealable bag or in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the shrimp, then seal the bag, pressing out extra air as you go. Massage the marinade around the shrimp, move it to the refrigerator, and marinate for 30 – 60 minutes.
- If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes so they don’t scorch on the grill.
- Heat a grill to medium-high, about 400 degrees.
- Slide the shrimp onto skewers. Scrub the grill grates clean, then coat them with oil.
- Set the shrimp on the grill and cook until done, about 2 minutes on each side.
- Finish with green onions or parsley, if you’d like, and serve.
