Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded or cubed ham
- 4 large eggs, hard boiled, peeled and sliced
- 24 oz iceberg lettuce blend
- 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup medium or mild cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup buttermilk, then more as needed
- 2 1/2 Tbsp finely chopped fresh Italian parsley
- 1 1/2 Tbsp chopped fresh chives
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 clove garlic, minced, 1 tsp
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
Directions
- To make the ranch, combine all of the dressing ingredients in a medium mixing bowl and whisk until smooth. If it needs thinning, add more buttermilk 1 Tbsp at a time until it reaches the consistency you like; it should stay fairly thick rather than pour like water. Transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate.
- For the salad, portion the lettuce into 4 large salad bowls. Scatter the ham and cheese over the top, then place 1 sliced egg on each salad. Spoon or drizzle on the ranch, and serve right away once the dressing is added.
