Ingredients
- 8 ounces pasta
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 cups boneless chicken breast halves, cooked and cubed
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then cook the pasta just until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain it and put it aside.
- Warm the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onions and garlic, and sauté them. Mix in the tomatoes, sugar, chicken, basil, salt and hot pepper sauce. Turn the heat down to medium and cover the skillet. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring often, until everything is heated through and the tomatoes have softened.
- Add the sauce to the hot cooked angel hair pasta and toss until the pasta is coated. Finish with Parmesan cheese.
