Makeup Tips for Sunburned Faces!

With summer coming to a close, everyone’s favorite activity is spending time outdoors!  But whether you’re planning an afternoon cookout or a day at the beach, it’s crucial to remember sun protection.

However, even after taking those precautions, sometimes you still end up burned. Maybe you missed a spot, or maybe you fell asleep in the sun — it happens. When your skin is paying the price, there are some quick, easy things you can do to conceal a sunburn.

1. Start with a stick concealer and apply it to the parts of your skin that are the most red — probably the tip of your nose and the apples of your cheeks.

2. Follow it up with a light liquid or powder foundation. Liquid provides more coverage, but powder will be easier on your sun-sensitive skin. Avoid rosy tones like pinks and reds, and focus on bronze and nude shades in your blush and lipstick.

3. Dust your face with a translucent powder and smile — your skin looks great again!

Though we should reapply sunscreen every few hours, most of us do not. There are excellent powders with SPF to tuck in your purse. Those are my go-to for additional safety when out and about all day.
